ironical
so in 1999 Cisco bought WebLine Communications (the company i worked for at the time) for 325 Million [link here about webline's sale]. Today, Cisco announce they are buying WebEx [yahoo news link on sale] for 3.6 Billion.

WebEx and WebLine did essentially the same thing. actually come to think of it, the business models were different but the products and technologies were the same. Plus WebEx and WebLine existed at the same time.

if Cisco had actually managed the WebLine product and engineers right Cisco could have turned WebLine's products into whatever they wanted. thereby avoiding having to expend another 3.6 Billion to get what they already have.

sad so sad...

Crisco does/did what any big corporation does (often mistakenly), throw money at an issue rather than develop it.

This is also how corporations like Crisco run out of money. Sort of the mentality of "this refillable pen is out of ink. I am going to throw away said pen and buy a new pen instead of a new cartridge." :)
