see i'm not so cool with that article. the teacher didn't tell the kids to stuff their mouths with marshmallows. generally speaking the kids wouldn't be allowed to it in a classroom anyways. teachers are so overworked and shortstaffed and they're often called away to meetings or to come into the hallway for some reason or the other. i used to pull teachers out of the classroom to discuss children all the time. how is it fair that the teacher is responsible for such a stupid game? if those kids had been stuffing marshmallows in the playground, would the school still be responsible? or on the way home from school.

well to be honest.. technically there is responsibility on the schools part. when it comes to minors and an institution, there should be at all times an adult to be assigned to keep track of them. should there be a problem then the adult is responsible.

what i find totally idiotic is this statment:

"This case was never about money," said the family's attorney, Francis Patrick Murphy. "This case has been about getting the message across to America that dangerous games should not be played in school, with or without supervision."

which is plain dumb. 'chubby bunny' is just as dangerous as playing schoolyard tag. the reality is that it was absolutely about the money and there is no moral high ground to be taken here. the legal conclusion is basic precedent: the school was responsible to ensure that children dont die. the child died. the school must pay.

if someone slips and falls on a set of stairs that i own, technically i am legally and financially responsible by most laws. i dont agree with it, but it is the legal state of things

the metromystic
I had *one to many of those* on Wed. night. Quite the tasty beverage though!!
And I agree with you...perhaps dialogue writing is something George Lucas should consider. Although now that Star Wars is done..I wonder what or if he'll do next. An entire movie taking place on the planet with all the Wookies lol?!
