oks this is over the top...
I know why they do this (prevent someone from releasing a copy on the interwebs etc but this is just over the top)...

on the main page of the amazon website there is a message from Jeff Bezos (CEO) about the upcoming release of Dan Brown (the author of Da Vinci Code) new book The Lost Symbol. the part that was just funny is the following quote:

"The book remains so deeply under wraps that we've agreed to keep out stockpile under 24-hour guard in its own chain-link enclosure, with two locks requiring two separate people for entry"

I just imagine a military grade security zone (like in Terminator 2 for instance or in Missile Silo Control etc) where two guys go up to a vault and having to each turn a key simultaneously to get access and such...

What happens if they find the two guards laying on the floor dead with religious symbols carved into their bodies?

To require that level of security one hopes that Dan Brown managed to eek out a book that isn't a hackish pot-boiler spiced with trite attacks on the Catholic Church.

But I doubt it. :)

The analogy sounds pretty good to me. I figure unleashing that book will be like setting off a bomb anyway. :>

I wonder what "the red button" would do in that instance?

maybe it sets off an incinerator and immolates the entire stock pile... a way to prevent ppl from getting access to it *grins*
